4 Beaches of Cantabria

In Cantabrian literature, the sea is the great topic; it not only inspires its writers but also provides them with a fundamental part of the imaginary and metaphorical instruments with which to shape their work. And as Rafael Morales says in his Ode to the Cantabrian Sea <<O relentless sea, are you Satan or the Angel?>> our sea has something special and different that makes you love it.

Fall in love with us of the Cantabrian coast, from Hotel Cuevas we promise you that you will not regret it and you will feel all its purity and fullness. Our best beaches to discover it are:

  • Santa Justa beach in Ubiarco. Just 2 kilometres away from the historic centre of Santillana you can find this small natural jewel, guarded by a small hermitage built into the rock and the ruins of an old watchtower with impressive panoramic views.
  • Los Locos beach in Suances. One of the favourite beaches for surf lovers, as well as being a beach with a great youthful atmosphere, it is as beautiful as it is dangerous due to its strong undertows and rough tides.
  • Oyambre Beach. This beach is approximately two kilometres long and is characterised by its crystal clear water and fine golden sand, making it one of the best preserved beaches in the region.
  • Valdearenas beach in Liencres. It is a large beach, characterised by fine, clear sand and large dunes. It alternates between the rockier eastern area and the less rocky western area. One of the highlights of this beach is its oceanic meadow landscape and spectacular sunsets.

We hope that all of them will make you enjoy and disconnect during your holidays. Don’t forget to immortalise its wonderful landscapes and of course create your own ranking.
